THE UNITED NATIONS 2020 REPORT ON MIGRATION

The International Organization for Migration (IOM), a United Nations agency based in Switzerland, has published its 2020 Report, a document of close to 500 pages with global and detailed data on the world situation updated to the end of 2019 and compared with the situation recorded in 2000. This Report is issued in concomitance with the celebration of the World Day of Migrants created by the UN General Assembly in 2000. The theme of the day this year is: “Rethink Human Mobility” “Emigration should be a choice, not a need – explains the official UN website dedicated to this day – reasserting our commitment for safe and dignified emigration for one and all”.
